Fear Journal – Day 130

Fearing the God of the Impossible

Matthew 28:5, 10 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified.

Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and take word to My brethren to leave for Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

Story: For some today, there is no surprise or shock that Jesus rose from the dead. But noting what was going on with the women and others helps us. I don’t think that the fear of the women was like ‘afraid I might die’ type. More, it is the fear that God has done something totally powerful and incomprehensible. Who rises from the dead?!? Both the angel and Jesus speak, ‘Do not be afraid’ before giving specific instructions. Removing the fear is needed for obedience.

My Prayer Response: Father, You are greater than I can comprehend. Yet, You allow us to know You, and You want our relationship with You to deepen. I don’t know how to describe what I’m going through – but You precisely understand. And have instructions for me to hear and obey. Let us not fear when we discover (again) how great You are, but be faithful to hear and obey Your directions.

May you discover today how great God is!
