That’s A Lot Of Mercy
Luke 1:50 “And His mercy is upon generation after generation Toward those who fear Him.”
Story (by Hannah Ross): This is the real deal! God has been promising His Messiah since Genesis 3, and now, He is finally here. In Mary! Having a baby is an important and amazing blessing; how much more when that baby is the Son of God, who will reign forever and ever! Mary praises God for His mercy to her, that He has chosen her to give birth to Jesus. That’s a lot of mercy! Mary’s fear of God is a respect of God’s authority over her. If such fear leads to obedience, then fearing God means a willingness to hear what God wants you to do and do it joyfully.
My Prayer Response: Father, You truly are in control of all things, from the day ahead for me to events of nations to the coming return of Jesus! I must fear you, which is both my worship and my commitment to obey. Let my obedience today be joyful, trusting that it rests on Your great mercy!
