Hi everybody! Good to C you!
This devotional thought is brought to you by the letter C. See how many words beginning with C you can catch – conviction, convenience, comfort, challenge, courage, counsel.
By the way, I’m Chips and I’m called by Christ to serve in a church in California!
As I was reading God’s Word this week, I was convicted. I had been complaining to God about how my life wasn’t easy or comfortable. I wanted things to change and be conformed to my ideal. At the heart of my complaint was that I was selfish; I was not content with the life God had chosen for me.
Who am I that I should counsel God? Is there anything He does not know?
Really, as the COVID 19 pandemic continues, we are being challenged. What is the priority in life? Is it our convictions? Or our convenience? An easy life is no longer an option. Which means we need courage from God to face our current trial and rejoice. Courage to follow our convictions, even when its not comfortable or popular. Courage to do what is right, even if it takes us out of our comfort zone.
God says in Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Has your God made a mistake? Has He lost His grip on this world? On you and your family? Is there even one area where you would correct Him?
Yes, we should long for an easier life, but realizing that will happen in heaven. So, when life is challenging, pray ‘Come Lord Jesus.’
In the meantime, be content. Your God remains in control.
Be courageous. Continue to do what is right.
Be convicted. Know what is important, and pursue those.
How many did you count?
