My God Is In Full Control
Acts 27:24-25 saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar; and behold, God has granted you all those who are sailing with you.’ “Therefore, keep up your courage, men, for I believe God that it will turn out exactly as I have been told.
Story: It was a dark and stormy night on the sea, and there was no hope of being saved (v. 20). No one had eaten in days, partly because there was not much food and partly because there was no appetite with the storm. Paul, it seems, has been praying much for himself and all 276 on board. An angel of God came to Paul with the answer to this prayer – which Paul shared with everyone in a meeting. Even though the storm was powerful and food supplies were minimal, God is in control. He has His hand on the storm, on Paul, and on each and every person on the boat.
My Prayer Response: Father, even the winds and the seas obey You. All 276 made it safely to land, through that storm. What looked like certain death, You controlled and used so that some would know and believe life is found in You. Increase my faith in You, trusting that You are in control. Teach me to pray in times of trouble with a confidence that You will answer and see us through. And use me and my life so that others would know and believe in Jesus and have life in His name.
